Coral Gables

Coral Gables, Florida is in the southern portion of the state and just northwest of Miami. It is approximately 37 square miles with 13.1 comprised of land, and the remaining is 24 square miles of water.

It has been reported that 51.06% of the city’s population were Spanish-speaking at home, and English was the spoken language at home for approximately 44% of its people up until 2000. French was spoken by 1.09% followed by Portuguese at 0.80%, Italian made up 0.72%, and for approximately 0.50% of the residents, the language spoken at home was German.

Up until two decades ago, the city’s Cuban population was ranked as the 18th highest Cuban-populated area in the U.S. with 28.72% of the populace. Additionally, the city of Coral Gables was home to the sixty-fourth highest percent of people who spoke Colombian.

Coral Gables is a beautiful and historic region of Florida. It abounds with museums and is home to the famous Venetian Pool. This is a structure that was carved out of a rock quarry that underscores the natural beauty of the area. The scenic bodies of water are interspersed around Coral Gables and offers residents a bounty of outdoor recreation.

The city of Coral Gables has lovely homes in its numerous residential areas. The city has its own public school system, and the high school was launched in 1950. As a city in Miami Dade County, it is a prime area for tourist and snowbirds as well as its mostly year-round residents. There are many venues, stores and restaurants that reflect the diverse culture of the community.
